gabe, look what you made me do!

sometimes i am amazed about the unexpected interactions with others.  some are good and some are better. some are worse and a few are truly outstandingly crazy.  i am starting to wrap my bro's life, staring from the phone bill to bank account, etc.  and there are many funny things that came up today.  for instance, i went to the bank to see how i would start to the process to close his account.  well, the current balance of his account was in triple digits, including the decimals.  i started to laugh as clearly, this young man knew how to stretch his cash (and vicariously, others' cash as well).  smooth roller. great. ahahaha. however, i completely exploded on capital one credit card company.  i never had such an incompetent service in my entire life. and though i have lived not so much, i have called all kinds of financial institutions in all kinds of locations.  and this one, i swear, gets the WTF monument.  and ...

difficult things

oooh irony. though it is amusing and life-saving at times (humour- wasnt the one of the very few things that separates us from real simians?) i say it could be somewhat inconvenient at times, like this morning, which was NOT serene by any means really. initially i was going to write about the difficulty of life: emotions. the way one feels and interacts with the world. opening up to people and communicating, sharing, being at a distance, emotionally confused or torn, that heavy stuff. but the world does not want me to think about my self-absorbed emotional sphere. instead, im hit on the head with somewhat more objective, practical humour. damned slapstick humour. i remember talking numerous times about the 'difficulty' of playing a musical instrument. piano, having 88 keys and having one of the most complex looking scores (beside ensemble and may be organ scores) is often considered a challenge (especially if one is teaching the required 'keyboard skills' course, w...

skype script

about two-three years ago, you couldnt pay me to use a cell phone. and there are things i just wont be doing with technology though i do appreciate some things with new technology. and some of them becomes a lifeline of sorts. right now, skype is a big part of my life. free calling (WHEN IT CALLS) to europe. great. the time differences usually bites. so to call gmt and not cause shortage of sleep deliberately, i usually be seen wearing my tin hat and string-can phone around 4-530pm mountain time (thats pumpkin hours in gmt), catching glimpse of mr. salamander's fire through the window. the funny thing is that now that he's got a G3 phone, he can connect to skype and work with the phone if he happen to be away from his terminal. so the usual point of communication for mr. salamander would be: kitchen computer, a little asus often in the basket, once in awhile bbc studio terminal and the smartypants G3 phone. it is that G3 phone that flakes out sometimes. for no reasons at ...

god being not funny and it being seriously funny

continuing with the last brainsplatter , it is true- i dont remember reading much about satan outright killing people. but dang, almighty father does smite lots and lots of 'wrong' doers and the j-boy have had his tabloid moments as well, throwing stuff around in market areas, providing alcohol to minors and initiating a cannibalism . but seriously, it's all for good fun. if you cant laugh about it, who will? once things get serious, it gets no fun. and if not fun, why do it? i used to advise my friends on their first dates: if your person isnt sarcastic, look very carefully to see some other trumping qualities. why? sarcastic people are rarely serious or overly bitter. it's a fine line to ride between laughter and cynicism. but like a well-balanced draught (my summer fav being the mill st. tankhouse ale right now. mm. tasty. ya, i know, i am really quite taking up on beer. thank... no one perhaps? it'll all add up in the midregion i am sure), a bit of sweet a...
