pact: here comes a post a day project...

hello blog, it's been a good long while. it's been a bit crazy and i did take on another long-term project: writing in local music website.  but i did feel guity- as if i was cheating on a bestie. and you are a bestie. i remember the ritual of writing everyday, on dinner table, under watchful eye of mom, who insisted that EVERYDAY is a diary entry day.

i realize not all things in life- especially in my life, it's not likely to be grand. things are small, personal and therefore, intimately interesting. so here i am, making a pact with you. i will write 100-words entry a day. imma really gonna try to stick by it. because there are so many things that cannot be expressed in pictures, even in the days of instagram and selfies.

the thought of the day: it was oscars last night and i was amused that:

1. despite of the proposed idea of 'creative' people party, oscars dress-ups always look so same. theme and variations. and people do goo-gaah over the standard outfits. i think it really outta be called 'confirmative' people party, rather.

2. people thought dunkirk was boring. i dont even know how that is possible. the emotional deafness in lack of firing noise is... stunning.

3. shape of water on the best pic and i am happy that a story-telling movie won a significant award. there's still appreciation and room for fantasy in our world.

and this is not amusing:
syria situation is still going on and i feel guilty for not being able to really to do much about that. sorry, world.

today, walter hall was hosting a special event for violists: heidi castleman masterclass. she teaches at juilliard and yes, i think it is quite exciting to play for a different teacher- you can take away so much with you, the inspiration, technical knowledge, a new emotional dimension, you name it. and i was confronted by a special person as well, just not as helpful, however impressive. walter hall is a busy place. and it's only a natural thing that students want to get in there to practice- it sounds good, it feels good and yes, there is shortage of space at busy times of the day in school. however, it is a performance hall and not a practice room, especially regarding the pianos. the piano technicians work very hard to keep the instruments to meet the heavy demands.  they come way before the students, to yield to the kiddies who want to practice. and yes, they do go home after a day's work.  and because many musical events take place in late evenings, it is important t
